Description

The perfect combination pristine rain forest and operating citrus farm!!

A beautiful clear river runs through the entire property filled with natural deep swimming holes and a mile of incredible scenery. The year round waterfall that flows into the river on the property is right out of a nature magazine.

Wake up in the morning and enjoy a glass of fresh orange juice (just picked from the orchard) on the charming covered bridge in the backyard of the house that is over the natural spring creek. Listen and watch the colorful Toucans, Parrots, Hummingbirds, and countless other species of birds that make Valley Stream their home. The keel-billed toucan is the national bird of Belize and make Valley Stream their home year round. Whether you are a dedicated ornithologist or new to bird spotting, Valley Streams wildlife will have you amazed.

After breakfast go for a long hike on the many private trails and roads through out the property along the river and creeks, on the various canopy covered limestone mountains on the property, through the 100 acre manicured orchard or through of the three huge tropical plant amazing nursery grows located on the property.

For the more adventure seeking hiker the property is surrounded on 3 sides by 1,000 of acres of untouched and protected National Forest Reserve in the Maya Mountains. The Reserve is home to numerous large waterfalls, and wildlife.

Take the provided ATV and drive through the orchard and pick you own oranges, grapefruits, and limes to take back to the house and prepare the best glass of juice you have ever had.

After a long day hiking and seeing the amazing property take a short stroll through the lush tropical plant nursery to the amazing blue hole swimming hole surrounded by bamboo at the base of the limestone mountain where the natural spring filters out the bottom of the mountain.

The property and home is gated and secure with the farm manager and his lovely family living in the home next door. They are available day or night to handle any guest needs.

The home is a charming all concrete home that has just been completely updated with all new furnishings. While typically not required, top of the line super quite inverter mini split ac systems were just installed in the bedrooms. Each bedroom and the living room also has brand new flat screen TV with cable. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. A grill and smoker is also provided on the covered bridge for guests to use.

The large screened in back porch provides the perfect place to relax, have dinner, and listen to the jungle come alive and the fire flies light up the night sky.

While Valley Stream is very private its location on the edge of St. Margarets Village provides easy access to the local grocery store, restaurants and bars in the Village.

Being centrally located on the most beautiful section off of the Hummingbird Highway makes getting into Belmopan easy (approximate 20 minute drive). The numerous tourist activities ( cave tubing, zip line, kayaking, waterfall repelling, and Mayan Ruins) are just a few miles in either direction of the front gate.

Valley Stream is the perfect private venue for those wanting to get away and enjoy a relaxed non-hotel natural setting. The properties central location 1/2 the way from the Belize International Airport (1.5 hours) to Placencia makes it the perfect spot to enjoy a land and sea vacation and see all that Belize has to offer.

Amazing house in the middle of the jungle with an awesome private river all to ourselves! Not to mention the hundreds of orange trees that we were allowed to pick and juice from freely! Highly recommend!

The orchard and surrounding area are absolutely stunning. Our 9 year old daughter loved the animals that were around, a baby goat, several dogs, puppies (her favorite), geese, and of course assorted wildlife and lots of birds. Set in the hills of central Belize and with beauty in every direction this was a great getaway spot. There are a few restaurant options around, though we tended to cook at the house for most meals during our 5 day stay. It was about an hour and a half to get to San Ignacio and some of the Mayan ruins to the west near the Guatemalan border, and about 45 minutes east will get you to Dangriga on the coast, all via main roads that are in great condition. We had driven up from Placencia area and it took about 1.5 hours. The house has mostly new furniture and furnishings, and includes an assortment of board games and a set of his and hers mountain bikes that were brand new when we visited. We took our 4x4 rental car back to the river at the back of the property several times, loaded up with our two kids and snacks, and spent time playing in the river and lounging in the shade amongst the jungle. The house is set somewhat near the road, so occasional trucks during the day or evening woke our baby up, but otherwise this is a quiet and calm getaway spot.

This place is special, and unlike many things you may experience on your trip to Belize. I highly recommend it, especially if you plan to drive. The drive there from Belize City was a great way to see the beautiful landscape of Belize. The location is beautiful, the orchard and grounds are incredible, and the access they give to explore every part of it is amazing. They provide you with access to two mountain bikes and an ATV for easy transport, or it's a great place to hike. It's a huge property that extends up into the hills for some incredible landscape views. They can also set up any day trip tours you may want to do, but honestly, there is so much to explore on the orchard, that we opted to not do any of the local tours. The house was clean and very comfortable. Lots of different places to relax in and around the house. Fresh squeezed orange juice was provided, as well as a big bowl of other fruit (Grapefruits, oranges, and limes) were delicious and really appreciated. Michael, our on site contact, was an awesome host, and was friendly and readily available to help us with any questions or needs that we had. This place was a great value and a highlight of our trip.
