The perfect combination pristine rain forest and operating citrus farm!!

A beautiful clear river runs through the entire and property filled with natural deep swimming holes and a mile of incredible scenery. The year round water fall that flows into the river on the property is right out of a nature magazine.

Wake up in the morning and enjoy a glass of fresh orange juice (just picked from the orchard) on the charming covered bridge in the backyard of the house that is over the natural spring creek. Listen and watch the colorful Toucans, Parrots, Hummingbirds, and countless other species of birds that make The Orchard House their home. The keel-billed toucan is the national bird of Belize and make Orchard House their home year round. Whether you are a dedicated ornithologist or new to bird spotting, the wildlife will have you amazed.

After breakfast go for a long hike on the many private trails and roads through out the property along the river and creeks, on the various canopy covered limestone mountains on the property, through the 100 acre manicured orchard or through of the three huge tropical plant amazing nursery grows located on the property.

For the more adventure seeking hiker the property is surrounded on 3 sides by 1,000 of acres of untouched and protected National Forest Reserve in the Maya Mountains. The Reserve is home to numerous large waterfalls, and wildlife.

Take the provided ATV and drive through the orchard and pick you own oranges, grapefruits, and limes to take back to the house and prepare the best glass of juice you have ever had.

After a long day hiking and seeing the amazing property take a short stroll through the lush tropical plant nursery to the amazing blue hole swimming hole surrounded by bamboo at the base of the limestone mountain where the natural spring filters out the bottom of the mountain.

The property and home is gated and secure with the farm manager and his lovely family living in the home next door. They are available day or night to handle any guest needs.

The home is a charming all concrete home that has just been completely updated with all new furnishings. While typically not required, top of the line super quite inverter mini split ac systems were just installed in the bedrooms. Each bedroom and the living room also has brand new flat screen TV with cable. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. A grill and smoker is also provided on the covered bridge for guests to use.

The large screened in back porch provides the perfect place to relax, have dinner, and listen to the jungle come alive and the fire flies light up the night sky.

While The Orchard House is very private its location on the edge of St. Margarets Village provides easy access to the local grocery store, restaurants and bars in the Village.

Being centrally located on the most beautiful section off of the Hummingbird Highway makes getting into Belmopan easy (approximate 20 minute drive). The numerous tourist activities ( cave tubing, zip line, kayaking, waterfall repelling, and Mayan Ruins) are just a few miles in either direction of the front gate.

The Orchard House is the perfect private venue for those wanting to get away and enjoy a relaxed non-hotel natural setting. The properties central location 1/2 the way from the Belize International Airport (1.5 hours) to Placencia makes it the perfect spot to enjoy a land and sea vacation and see all that Belize has to offer.

Beautiful Retreat

Valley Stream is a comfortable house with a gorgeous outside area. It looks exactly like the pictures. Michael is very friendly and helpful. And the oranges on the trees are delicious! The only reason that we gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is that it is right on the Hummingbird Highway. Big trucks and busses go by day and night, and it's pretty noisy.

Nice, cozy house at the edge of orange grove and jungle

We liked this nice cozy house and spent the first 5 days of our vacation on the property. It was right off the highway so it was easy to find. There was not much traffic so the noise from the highway did not bother us at all. Michel greeted us when we arrived. The freshly squeezed orange juice, chips , and delicious home made dip was waiting for us. It was well appreciated. Later on Michel brought us a tray of papaya, which was really nice. Michel and his family lived in the house next to us, but they were not disturbing us at all. They have dogs and we enjoyed playing with them. Two of them were accompanied me for my morning strolls through the orange grove to the jungle river. Tons of birds, butterflies, iguanas, beautiful sights and smells everywhere We used this place as a base to do the Cave kayaking, Crystal Cave tour, and a trip to Guatemala. We also spent a whole day enjoying the property. The house is clean, beds are comfortable, air conditioners working but were not really needed this time of the year. There is nice sitting area with furniture, big dinner table, and hummocks covered by bug screen - were we had most of our meals. The covered palapa by the river was my favorite place. For activities around the house we used two bicycles and kayak(provided with the house), collected oranges/grapefruits for juice, and swam in the beautiful clear jungle river. I would add more plates, bottle opener, and a closet to the house since there was little room to store our things. These are just some minor things, overall the house and surrounding area were really great!

Beautiful place, great stay, just a few things!

This place had a beautiful scenery, we spotted a toucan while checking out the property and we just loved it! My only complaint would be the dogs, the two brown ones are adorable and make friends with you fast but the white one barked the whole time when we arrived and we couldn’t think strait, it also barked throughout the night and morning and kept us up. Once the dog finally stopped it was time for the roosters to wake everyone up. There is a large fan provided that we had to put on high outside of our bedroom to try and drown out the house and slept slightly better the second night but I’d just beware. It’s too much air to put inside the room, probably would’ve caused a curtain tornado haha. Other than that the only inconvenience is the closest town is 20 mins out and their hours are crazy depending on what time of year you go. However we still loved our stay at this home. :)

Valley Stream Farm

Amazing property, but need to state how close it is to Hummingbird Highway noise. But, overall a great place!

Perfect Getaway

This property was exactly what my family and I were looking for - quiet, cozy and surrounded by nature. We loved picking fruit and making our own fresh juices. It was fun hiking around the property and seeing how many birds we could identify. I look forward to booking a longer stay.

Almost perfect

The place is beautiful and perfectly located to do just about any day trip. The check in was simple and convenient. The only downsides were the bathroom right off the kitchen with no solid door, only a slatted one, and the noise from passing trucks got a little loud. Other than that the place is exceptional. One suggestion to anyone planning on staying is to stop and get groceries/supplies on the way to the property.

Family trip to Belize

Clean and comfortable accommodation in a lovely setting. We enjoyed the screened porch overlooking the creek. The meal that was ready on our arrival was delicious.

Indescribably beautiful.

If the other reviews don't win you over, I hope this one does. This place can't be beat for price, location, and privacy. This location is right off the highway, so access is extremely convenient. The local sites are for touring are also very close by (Try Blue Hole National Park and Angel Falls Hiking/ Ziplining.). You can also visit St. Herman's cave from here, which is just minutes away. My family of four and I had plenty of room and no one gave us any trouble. The caretakers are great and left us goodies in the fridge when we showed up and they showed us how to work everything. There are nearby places to shop and eat (about 20 minutes away.) This place has its own trails near the water and the jungle and the house isperfect with a washer and dryer (which was great.) There is a super cold air conditioner in both bedrooms (but you probably won't need it.) The house is built for ventiliation and it stays cool. There is a water stand with purified water for use and there is a fruit orchard on the premises. Amazing views in every direction and great internet with cable television if you need that too. Couldn't be happier! You can also use two mountain bikes to explore the entire farm and trails that run throughout the property along the creek.

Airbnb Review

Amazing house in the middle of the jungle with an awesome private river all to ourselves! Not to mention the hundreds of orange trees that we were allowed to pick and juice from freely! Highly recommend!
